Our Rector
The Rev. Carey Connors arrived at St. Christopher’s amid the pandemic.
A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, Rev. Carey has a deep interest in God's mission. She has served in Haiti and D.R. Congo and led ministry with those experiencing homelessness.
She is passionate about God’s love for and acceptance of all people.
Carey and her husband, Hap, enjoy life with their only child still at home—Colin, a rescue Schnoodle.
They love to hike and explore new places and have thoroughly loved getting to know the green spaces of Springfield. Email her here.
Our Deacon
The Rev. Elvira Beracochea was appointed to serve at St. Christopher’s by Bishop Mark Stevenson in September 2023. She is a graduate of St. Phoebe’s School for Deacons and as a deacon, she works to interpret the needs, concerns and hopes of the world to the Church and serve those in need.
Elvira was born in Uruguay and Spanish is her native language. She supports a number of ministries and teaches English as a second language at St. Christopher's. As a global health consultant for many years, Elvira has worked in over 60 countries to improve the management of healthcare services. Elvira is passionate about making Christ’s love known in word and in action. She lives in Burke with her husband Bala. They have four grownup kids and three grandsons.
